I've got a 6U Proel rack with a Pre-Fender SWR Bass 750 head, a Korg DTR1000 rack tuner, an Audio-Technica AT3110 wireless unit, and a Furman M-8LX power conditioner.

Hanging out on talkbass for ages has educated me to the importance of having scads of clean power. Racks are simply made for this! Knowing that scrubbing the power once is efficacious, I now carry a second rack for my bass rig that scrubs the power SIX TIMES before entering my amplifier. This and my tinfoil hat gives me an edge over all other bassists and protects my gear from local thermonuclear EMP.

I keep things pretty basic, trying to only have what I really need at the time. Right now my rack, which is a six space Gator rack I bought off CL, consists of my Peavey Tour 700, a Behringer BDI21 mounted onto a shelf above the amp and a very basic Furman. I use a Korg Pitchblack tuner pedal which I love too much to give up for a rack tuner.

+1 on the power conditioner. Get a good one that does what you need it to do, clean power. I have a Furman, it helped.

Personally, I think the Furmans are a big scam - can you tell us specifically how yours helped, please???

It helped me, even though I have read that it would not over and over again.

Some clubs seem to have dirty power. Even my band room has this problem. I had issues with pops, buzzing, all kinds of strange artifacts coming from my bass rig. It did not ALWAYS happen, but it happened. I got the power conditioner, problem was solved.

Then, I plugged in our band room monitor power amp (a really old, beat up amp) into it and viola! The annoying buzz/hiss issues we had with that amp are gone.

there are guys on here who are well versed in these things, I don't count myself among them. All I can say is that, in my case, that sucker sure helped.

Got it on the cheap off ebay... just does its job.
Edit for price... I paid around $30
