Similar situation here. It's a good situation to be in
I have realized that there are things I need, but never can think of them at gifting time. Usually unexciting/utility items. A few considerations:• There are lots of cheap but good pedals on Amazon. If you want to try something weird, you can do so for cheap. And big names are on sale now too.
• Mics. Not sure how into recording you are, but another SM57 is always handy
• Cables, picks, straps, strings, fretwraps, string swings, instrument stand
• Blinky strings of lights or weird interesting lamps for the studio. And a mirror ball. You don't think you need it, but trust me bro.
• Really tight sleeveless mesh half-shirt
I've asked for the same thing for 5yrs: a fFodora 5 string, or the latest in string innovation. I have a string surplus now..
Hmmmm.... what about listing some things you think she'd like?
I'm not suggesting you ask for diamonds or pearls, but maybe something you can both use, that you know she'd enjoy. An espresso machine? A couples massage?
"Subtract...don't add". That being said, I bought myself a new inexpensive preamp pedal BUT I'm giving stuff away left & right via community websites.

Potter's House, a local charity, accepts bike donations, fixes them up, and gives them to the destitute for basic transportation. To be eligible, the recipient has to show proof of employment (...of some type).

Just a set of strings, took me a while to figure out which, as I have a Medium Scale bass. Ended up asking for D'Addario EXL220 Nickel Wound Super-Light, 40-95. Nice stocking stuffer. All I really need, and everything I "want" is a lot more money.
Socks I can understand, but tape measures?
I've had one for over 40 years...

Not much, honestly. I have a small wishlist of vinyl and books. No gear requests. I'm in a massive mode of de-cluttering to streamline my house and studio so my wish list is more about what I'm excited to get rid of than what to add.

Not much, really. I'd settle for six matching numbers on my Powerball ticket. Just once, is all I ask. 
I appreciate your quandary. I was JUST talking to my mom last night about Christmas. I literally said: Aside from paying the bills, I have all I need. I have never had more clothes than I do now. I have so many books and reading materials I may never get through them all in 20 years. I don't really lack for anything (aside from the money for those damn tax and administrative bills).
Unsaid here is there are SURELY things you WANT (I mean this is TalkBass GAS heaven after all), but you (and I) are not willing to put relatively expensive things on a Christmas list. And that bar for me of "too expensive" for a Christmas list for other people to view is around $150 for any one item, so that eliminates a new Shure Beta 58 vocal mic, and a Radial-brand box or two, and so many guitar pedals, and other things...
And a lot of the stuff I "need" or want that's $150 or below has already been bought on the premise of actual need, or a "want" from time to time that isn't a budget breaker, and that stuff tends to be far below the $150 threshold.
Luckily, I love books and guitar pickups. With so many guitar pickups around or fairly less than the $150 threshold, there's still options for me that are truly interesting, wanted and perhaps even truly useful.
My big Christmas present is going to be a week in Aruba. Although it may not happen at all, as Aruba is quite close to Venezuela.
I don’t have one. But after reading this thread, I might just ask for a lottery ticket. I know people that do that ant Christmas every year and it seems fun.

When our kids ask us what we want for a birthday, Christmas, etc., we always have the same reply:
"Time with you."
It could be going for a walk, bike ride, or kayaking together, or a day at zoo together, or being invited over for a barbeque, anything really, along it's a shared experience we'll have the opportunity to laugh about together in the future.
We no longer buy into the notion that buying stuff is the answer; time is the most perishable and valuable to us; we have enough stuff, and no desire for more stuff just because a date pops up on the calendar.
