What's on your Christmas list?

I recently received some rather groovy Pac Man / Red Cross socks for donating blood a few days ago.

As for what's on my list,

• Books are standard for my list. (I'll peruse NPR's 2025 Books We Love list for some additional ideas).
• A rice cooker, maybe?
• Perhaps a bottle of ink, as I've started using my fountain pens again. Writing them has kind of a zen feeling, especially when practicing Japanese.
• Coffee beans and tea, possibly.
• Better pickups for my PRS SE Kingfisher are on my "eventual buy" list, but I usually avoid asking non-musician relatives go to music stores.

• For ideas, last year I bought my elderly dad a puffy camp blanket (one with a Smokey Mountains National Park design, as he grew up in the region). To my surprise, he loves it and uses it daily while watching TV. It's one of the very few things I've gotten for him that wasn't put away and/or forgotten. (He once called me and asked if I had a cordless drill he could borrow. I told him he already had one I'd given him, in a set with an impact driver, then went over and found it for him).
• My elderly mom does a lot of crafting, quilting, and such, so I bought her a craft light a few years ago. She regularly uses it and says it helps her accurately see colors.
• They both love the wireless weather station I got them a few years ago.
• A portable car battery jump starter has come in handy more often than expected, especially with a car that isn't driven much but, like all modern cars, drains some battery when sitting.
• I really like my digital piano, although I see prices have considerably increased since I bought mine.
• The Yamaha Reface synths look cool, but they're in the $400-$500 range.

I'll have to be cautious, as I'll likely have some tremendous expenses in the next few months.

I need a valve plate assembly for one of the air compressors.

And a torque wrench to reseat the head bolts after the rebuild.

Other than that, at my age, consumables are best. Food, beverages, tickets to shows etc.

Someone mentioned bourbon. If you're a woodworker and you get a low cost bottle of Evan Williams Black Label Single Barrel, one sip and you'll think you're ripping white oak on the table saw. In a good way.

I'm trying to figure out what to put on my Christmas list. I need help.
My wife demands that I give her a list. I don't have anything that I really need or want, so every year I give her a list of things that I neither need nor want, but she's still going to spend money on nonetheless.

Obviously I have some bass-related stuff (mostly pedals), but here's my non-bass related list:

Nextmug or Ember Mug
Rolling Grill Baskets
Twelve South Airfly 3.5mm to Bluetooth transmitter
2TB Micro SD Card (for the Switch)
Concert tickets to Rush and Megadeth/Anthrax/Iron Maiden
books about WW2

Thru trip insurance I got more than $4K back on a vacation that got interrupted, and I’ve saved $6K annually on health insurance. And my investments, even with the recent correction, are in great shape.

For the past many years I’ve submitted no Xmas list.

This is the year I get my tonewheel Hammond console fully restored, and transform a Leslie from 710 to 147 to match the Hammond.

Eh...no. I do know the place / town SE of Erie. Place I cited is a church-affiliated outreach located at the Virginia Beach oceanfront. We have a fairly large homeless population.

If you ever get a chance to visit The Church Studio, definitely do it. It's a great facility now, and has so much history.

It would be the girl in our band. She joined us a few months ago and we are starting to get busy with gigs, the pics were from 2 weeks ago. I invited her to a chamber music show at the college last Thursday and she is excited that I got free tickets for this Sunday's show at the college with Peter Noone. I am going to her house tomorrow where she invited some friends over for Thanksgiving. We are both originally from New Jersey now both staying warm in Florida and making music.

Mrs. Winslow and I are in the "don't get us any more stuff" camp.

1) We've got most all we need already, and don't want yet-more-whatever cluttering up the house;
2) The things we like are so arcane and specific (tools, books, music/art stuff), they'd be almost impossible for others to guess at;
3) Because of that, when we want/need something, we just go and get it ourselves.

We enjoy hanging out with our magnificent nieces for a while at family get-togethers, and that's good enough for us.
