I’m a string junkie. I already know what’s on its way to me- D’Addario NYXL 45-105 (never tried them), LaBella DTF 43-104 (tried DTFs on a 5er about 10 years ago) and Elixir NanoWeb Acoustic Bass 45-100 (never tried them).

Christmas can’t come soon enough!!!

I have no list as of yet, but it's sure to include more hunting gear spec'd toward western big game wilderness archery hunts. Some pack llamas would be nice, but my wife isn't convinced.

FYI, for those who are interested : the campaign was such a success, that they've decided to keep it open (with slightly increased prices for those that missed the finding deadline) to get it past the $1 million mark, and unlock the last stretch goal.

This is a real bargain if you're in the USA.

Unfortunately international postage, and fees, double the cost for the rest of us - but the digital bundle is a no-brainer, and for me the real value is in the digital archive of all the original issues.

When CDs were still a thing, I would tell my kids and family to get me a CD that they think I would enjoy, but likely not discover on my own.
This way, even if it wasn't something that I would choose, I could keep somewhat aware of current trends and also keep myself open to new/different music.

It is much harder now that CDs aren't a primary method of listening to music.

But seriously,

This year, just about everyone I know is in a precarious economic position (myself included) so we collectively decided that, with a few exceptions, gifts will not be exchanged this year. I'm getting my daughter and her two kids something, but I've told everybody not to get me anything.

Strangely, all my friends and family seem more joyful about the holiday season this year, despite most of us pinching pennies to make ends meet. We're putting up the faux tree in the living room tomorrow afternoon and we always make a big production of decorating with the grandkids before we head over to my folks house to make Xmas cookies.

Years ago I encountered one of my former wives while visiting our daughters house and she asked me what I wanted for Christmas.

My response was that I just wanted to be left alone.

Unfortunately for me that was too much to ask.
