What's On Your Workbench?

First time poster, but I think I have a fretless 5 in my future trying to match the feel of my beloved Rick Turner fr4. So I've been lurking.

This is a 1x15 speaker cab in a 16" wide piece of sapele I've been sitting on forever. Decided to hand DT everything but I'm much more out of practice than I thought. This was joint 4 of 4. Ignore the over chisel and the double base line scribe issue. It looked a lot better once I cleaned it up.

That sounds about right. I'm considering making my own strap buttons, but just because I don't want to place an order for just strap buttons. I may just do musical strap buttons amongst my guitars.

Maybe this isn't the right thread for this, since it isn't actually on my workbench, and it isn't even a bass, but here goes anyway.

I have been keeping my eye on some big slabs of mappa burl, because it's cool looking stuff, but it is usually used as a top wood because it is so soft. However, I was recently listening to Wide Mouth Mason's new "I Wanna Go With You" album and, man, that C3PO lap steel stuff he does is amazing. Which got me thinking that I could make a lap steel out of solid mappa since it doesn't need the structural rigidity of a bass neck. Hmmm... now I just need to learn to play lap steel.

So my crystal ball says a solid mappa burl lap steel might be on my workbench someday. Maybe after I clear out the other 3 basses already on my workbench...

In the meantime, here is a live performance:

My daughter and her boyfriend just bought their first house, I made them this coffee table, it has mortise and tenon connections. I used my pickup routing process to make the mortises.

The wood in this table came from a free log I got on Facebook and had milled in my driveway. And yes when I'm making something like this all I can think is "this would be an awesome body".

I just started another guitar commission, hence my absence from LC, I've been super busy.
