I was just going to ask that question. I suspect "RichterScale Sharpie-toner" TM.

What do you mean - African mermaid, or European mermaid?

Well, it's a simple question of weight ratios!

For real though, it's about 25 drops (I didn't actually count) of Mixol blue in about 3 or 4 ounces of water based varathane ultimate gloss poly. I feel like I've been chasing the elusive perfect dye/tint product and process for this kind of thing for a good 20 years and have never been 100% satisfied, but this is pretty good so far. Mixol tints are definitely the most versatile product I've ever tried since they mix into pretty much everything really easily and can give you anything from gentle transparent tint to full opaque. And I like applying them in an actual finish as opposed to putting a straight dye or stain into the wood since it doesn't suck into the figure as much, which I find can sort of freeze the figure in an unpleasant manner.

This Piezo bridge has been on the workbench this last week. This is one of the man-made Ebony’s (similar to ebano etc) with brass back and base plate...Graphtech Ghost saddles, so we get full functionality. The bass the bridge is for is below, which features a rather nice Yew top, it’s a 38” 5 string fretless.

Really nice work Manton, the contrast of the solid black ebony/brass against that wild grain in that top is beautiful. I'll be watching this one for sure.
