Chambered, but much more agressively than I've done in the past, almost to the point of hollow

I picked up a used Mexican P bass a few weeks back. The 'buckle rash' on the back, as declared by the owner, was actually a series of very deep, straight scratches. Luckily they were only in the clear coat, as the bass is a sunburst so touching that up would be tricksy.

I drop-filled the scratches with superglue, and wet sanded the back out to 2000 grit. I tried hand-buffing, but didn't really get very far. I've wanted a rotary polisher for ages, and this was a good excuse to pick one up.

Under dazzling white light you can still see a bit of swirly swirls in the finish, but in the main I have it back to a high gloss finish, and the deep scratches are completely removed. I used Poorboys World SSR-2 and SSR-1 on a foam pad, and then followed up with Poorboys EXP wax, applied by hand and buffed away with a wool pad on the polisher.

I admire people who hand buff everything, but I'm not convinced you can best a machine in this contest.

They have a similar buffer for cheap at Harbor Freight. A disposable tool, no doubt, but good enough for occasional use buffing a guitar or my boat.

I bought the harbor freight polisher like 12 years ago, thinking it would be disposable after that one first job, and it's still kicking along doing great work.

Microfiber bonnet and Meguiar's Ultimate Compound after blocking with cushioned micromesh abrasive up to 6000.

Not really sure what this will turn into, but I was going through my pile if wood and as I stacked this up I decided it needed to get glued together into a neck blank.
Might be a bass in the end, or maybe a six string for my nephew (graduation present for finishing dental school next year). Either way it'll be nice I'm sure.

And now with the edge cleaned up...
