Tinny is a perfect description. Another perfect is perfect pitch, which as the old joke says, occurs when you throw the banjo into the dumpster and it hits the accordion.

On my workbench right now, I'm planning out my next builds to start after my son and I finish his headless short scale project.
Two tribute style projects. These are going to become the tops on a Warwick-ish 4 string bass and a PRS-ish guitar:

Not super sure about any of the details yet, will probably be maple/cherry necks, cherry bodies. These builds might not start until next winter so I've got time to figure it out.
Oh my, oh my.....Fretless conversion with Luminlay fret lines and side-dots complete, bolted back together and ready to setup,

I particularly like the last two side dots reflecting off of the pickguard.![]()

Thanks. I believe they were ordered from Japan. Seemed like a very quick delivery.Does everyone order their Luminlay from the Japanese site? Or is there a States side retailer? That work looks phenomenal!
Yep....shipped from Japan and yes...very fast service...Thanks. I believe they were ordered from Japan. Seemed like a very quick delivery.

Edit:....If any of you do order....don't bother getting their "recharge" light....
NOT good kit...I'd recommend just getting a suitable light locally....
Yeah....not cheap but they explained that the high price is due to there being a lot of wastage during manufacture...Ouch that’s a lot of yen.
Looks flipping awesome though
..........I can live on baked beans with the best of 'em...
........
I can believe the wastage: I broke two line markers. Fortunately it was a set of 24 for a 22 fret bass.Yeah....not cheap but they explained that the high price is due to there being a lot of wastage during manufacture...
Whatever......I NEEDED them..........I can live on baked beans with the best of 'em...

Whaaaaat?....I can believe the wastage: I broke two line markers. Fortunately it was a set of 24 for a 22 fret bass.
love that vent cover paint job!!
Back to the Luminlays: I'll probably try some experiments with luminous pigment powder and CA in a side-dot application. I have some Luminlay sanding dust set aside and played with that a bit as a filler with CA and it seemed like it would work. Also going to look a making a better light charger than the Luminlay supplied one. Hmmm..... I just so happen to have a blue bass and a aqua bass still in the works...
