What's On Your Workbench?

Well, I spent the last couple days hanging new wall shelving above my workbench in an effort to reclaim my workbench from my wife's habit of piling crap on any flat surface. So I guess my workbench was on my workbench? I didn't take pictures tho (and it's already covered in boxes) but I hung up about 16 lineal feet of this -

The best part, I got it all free!

Same problem here... about once a year I have a very frank conversation with myself and toss the stuff that will obviously never be used.

Except ebony scraps.

And rosewood.

and uh. Ugh. o_O

I saved a box of roasted ash scraps from a few years ago - it still smells great when I open it up!

Mahogany, bubinga, Warwick truss rod (which is very much like the rod Bruce designed), chrome TB pickup covers, A5 magnets, transformer core plates, steel poles, coil wire...
Damn, here I go again. I see Darkstar-inspired pickups in a Guild/Ricky-inspired shape, 32" scale neck thru four stringer. Will take pics tomorrow, neck is almost finished, planning to plane and shape the wings tomorrow.

Guild Darkstar/Bi-Sonic pu's sound great. About $125 from Best Bass Gear. They are narrow spacing so keep that in mind. Curtis Novak offers P-bass spacing as well as the narrow spacing but his cost twice as much. I've used both both Guild and CN's and they both sound really good. CN offers painted inserts (normally black plastic) in whatever color you choose.

Okay so I finished a couple of amp and speaker cab projects. Whew! So I laid out my unfinished bass projects from over the years (one dates back to 1987). I think I will finish the lacewood short scale first as it is getting an oil finish and that is the easiest. The two five strings have clear coat and need more done with that. The other two (a four string lefty and a "National" style short scale) are less finished. I'll decide which is next after the get the lacewood one complete. If anyone is interested in any of these you are welcome to contact me but I am not really trying to solicit sales (maybe you have questions about the construction?). I really was building for myself (except for the lefty which was just because) but you never know. I wonder if I should start an "unfinished basses" thread?

Looking at that photo of your unfinished projects makes me want to point out that I love your style - your basses are nice and clean and have a very distinct look, just scrolling down the page I could tell those were yours before I looked over and saw who's post it was.

Also as the resident left handed member of Luthier's Corner, I'm glad to see you built one "just because!"

Thanks a lot @dwizum. The teak one in the upper left corner is the oldest from about 1987. I was experimenting with piezos and electronics at the time (as none were available) and it got sidelined by a massive move across the country. Anyway now I'll get to it. I've got my six string in a thread on LC too but I realized I needed to get these all done first.
P.S. Always wanted to do a left handed even though I could not play it.
