Yes, 2 different basses. The antique white P was completed about one week ago. (body was an 80s Tokai)
Now, I am working on this gold sparkle. (Allparts body + Marty Bell gold sparkle finish.) Found it used here on TalkBass and just got it about 8 days ago. I got a lot of "little annoying things" to do to get this put together. The bridge was mounted off center. Fixed that already. Neck pocket needs an ever so slight material removal on the top side edge. The 4 holes in the neck cavity were enlarged and I need to shim those back to original specs. The 4 holes drilled into the neck heel need to be plugged and redrilled.
But, challenges are fun. Stuck in the house. Perfect time to "tinker". How about you, Matt?
I'm still trying to figure out what they are.....![]()
So do you tell her "Set your phone in my crotch"?Just finished this little guy. It is a phone/tablet stand for my wife. I had this small bit of walnut crotch ...

Nah man, she'd just roll her eyes at me. That level of humor is best left to woodworkers since we 'get it'.![]()

And lastly, trying to be motivated to finish up a spare for the high school's guitar program. Motivation is LOW being that I've had it for 2 years (pretty much thought of as a basket case due to extensive damage on the back) and the school is completely locked down due to C-19. I really need to post the damage pictures, but I think I lost them when that phone died.

Was it originally pumpkin?......This came up on my Ebay search. Couldn't pass it up, bad 'relic' job and all.

Slapped a Schector neck I've had for a while on it, ditto correct Gotoh tuners. Pickups are ThunderBucker 66s. Fully loaded body cost less than the pickups list price.
I'm keeping this one, need to bring the bridge/tailpiece up to current spec. This is a circa 2012 or bass, #0021

Bass on the left is my original FenderBird, built in 1983, shown in its final 2010 incarnation. Lower horn started off about 2 inches longer.
Ummm, did you re-purchase something you made 8 years ago? That's oddly, well, something metaphysically cyclic.....
That's the original color, Fiesta Red.Was it originally pumpkin?......
Awww man!.....Sorry to hear that...The thing on my workbench right now is lots of water.
I opened the shutoff valve for the hose bib that's on the outside of our house right next to my shop to do some spring cleaning, and didn't realize for a good 30 minutes that it was spraying water all over my shop because the sillcock had frozen and burst over the winter. Water got on my work bench, my stack of hardwood, and one of my tool shelves with my sanders and routers on it. Probably a good 40 or 50 gallons, it was up over my flipflops.
I got it all dried out as best I could with towels and a shop vac. I think the tools and most of the wood will be OK but I'm waiting for a few days to try the tools. Some of the thin hardwood stock is pretty warped, fingers crossed it flattens back out when it dries. Got some fans and a dehumidifier running in there now, I think I'm going to take a break for a few days while it dries out.
Oh gawd, this made me sick. The thing on my workbench right now is lots of water.

I only liked it for the very last line...
