What's so great about 6 strings?

After playing a 5 exclusively for about 3 years, I now love the zippiness of a 4 !

Like in baseball, when you warm up with two bats to make the one bat seem lighter, I just seem to be way more comfortable on a 4 than I did before playing 5's.

Undecided if I am going to sell my 5, but I'll never sell my 6.

Hi chaps, this is my first post in TB.
I started playing Bass with a 5 stringer, then "expanded" my horizons with a 4 string bass... Yep, from 5 to 4, now I play the 6 string one.
Reason why? They all sound different, and I play different things with them.
My 6 string bass is fretless and it helps a lot to play a fretless bass if it have them extra strings, I know I'll be hitting the right note because I can move more on a up and down scale than in a 4 or 5 string bass. At the same time I can produce more tricks with 6 strings than with 4 or 5.
Problem, I'm terrible at slapping, and for me to slap I prefer an 4 string. Simple too, and sometimes I just prefer to play simple depending on what I'm playing.
My first bass was a 5 string bass because I though it would be cool, but now I learned that sometimes less is more, and that you have to love them all really.
None is better, is the player who is better.
If you can play it with an extra string why not?
Laterz.
