What's the deal with SX???

SX is junk unless its a P, since all Jazz basses are not good for metal. Me, I'd rather get a Brice 6 string, since anyone who would buy a 3000 dollar bass must be not concerned about music and can't get any tone without using a pick because Jaco only needed 4 strings.

There, cut and paste that into about half the threads that float around on here.

Cause they are good sounding playable instruments that are just as giggable and track about as well as anything out there and are easily upgraded to compete with Pro gear for our ears and fingers.

Quality control is comparable to Squier.

These cheap Chinese instruments have really impressed people.

I really want a bass with a quartersawn neck and a Lakland Skyline DJ5, but for the same price I could have an arsenal of guitars and basses with cases, a couple of double gigbags, straps, spare strings, and an outboard preamp/DI.

You are my hero.

Anyways, It's just good bang for the buck.

an SX is a ridiculous piece of crap... that people like to mod and think that it sounds better than thousand dollar basses... it's followers are die-hard and might be slightly delusional at times... :) that should get your thread going man. if you want to mod out a bass, then you might look into them. stock? a piece of $100-200 firewood. except firewood sounds better. :D

Ya know... I avoided forums for a long time because of responses like this (I should have continued) - I appreciate your honest and heart felt answers and your quote
"This thread only happened because modern parents teach their kids that their opinions matter" really fits! If I spent my time searching threads I'd never play my bass! With over 1000 people surfing this place I figured it was quicker to just ask since half the answers are just sarcasm anyway!

I searched "SX" on Talkbass and couldn't find any threads about SX basses, so my guess is they are pretty much an unknown off-brand that isn't worth the money. If they were worth their salt, there would be lots of Talkbass members owning them.

I would stay away from them if you value your hard earned bucks!

;-)

OMG.. not again!! :ninja:

Because of the forum traffic about SX, it escalated the brand to have a cult following.. read through all the essex (SX) threads and you will end up buying one, this will then lead you to love it and post "I'm amazed by an SX" thread or worst sell it and post another " SXno good thread".. :p

Seriously, you might wanna try one out, it will surprise you..:)
(saving up for my SX JB75)
