What's the diff. between diatonic an chromatic

I just have one question. Can you post a link to some sound files that you've posted on the net. It seems many of us would love to hear examples of your playing. Most of us have homepages (see our profiles) and most of those have some RealAudio or MP3's on them. Join the club and show us some of your mad skills.

Unless you're not really what you pretend to be....

Good job fitzy looks like you paid attention in theory class, bet Ed is glad you picked that one up for him you brainless invertebrate(thats original)!Next question whats the definition of the term "smooth voice leading?"

WORNGIRDLES,

Yeah, I usually try to pay attention in theory class, which has a lot to do with the fact that - these days - I'm the one teaching it. Smooth voice leading? I'll pass on that one, but moving from one topic to the next with as little wasted motion as possible, what in the hell do you think you're doing here? Let's examine you track record so far:

First, you announce your presence at this board by posting SPAM messages in both the Technique and General Instruction Forums, despite the fact that it's obvious to most every one here but you that you would have great difficulty spelling either "Technique" or "General Instruction" without the aid of a dictionary, which would only help you if you were lucky enough to guess the correct order of the first few letters of each term. Next, you start creating threads offering answers to any and all theory questions, and then refuse to respond when those questions are actually asked. You then get tossed out of the Technique Forum by Pacman for SPAMMING, so you move to General Instruction and start the same sh*t all over again.

As far as Ed is concerned, he doesn't need my help to answer theory questions, or for that matter, any other type of questions. I have little doubt that you will quickly discover this on your own, to the great amusement of all who happen to be following this thread. Ed's a big boy, and he can take care of himself. If you want to mess with him, go ahead. I'll be watching, waiting, and murmuring "PITY DA FOO, PITY DA FOO..." under my breath as I wait for you to be verbally disbembered, defecated upon, and tossed carelessly under the wheels of the nearest passing bus. It's your funeral.

As an aside, may I mention that if you don't like being treated like a big hairy mouth-breathing bag of boogers, you could try not acting like one. That usually helps.

Sincerely,
DURRL

for your info Jaco played many instruments. Heard a story once of a night he sat in on a gig before he was done he played every instrument in the band,so yeah he probably did play a little sax. Good one.

" Don't just be a good bass player be a good musician-Jaco."

hey fitzy calm down man your gonna rupture something. I teach myself ,friend and I'll almost bet my students are better equipped for any playing situation than yours so stop your whining and PLAY YOUR BASS!One more thing the only thing I need a dictionary for is to look up the meaning of bass player with no skills and a big mouth, Whoa! there's your picture fitzy!

Wow - we would never have guessed - you've only mentioned it... what 15 times now?

And how can you "almost bet" - is this for people without the courage of their convictions? ;)

C'mon we want answers!

PS while this is all great fun - has anybody looked at the posting guidelines lately?

Yet again, the state of FL is getting a bad rap undeservedly.

Yo SPINNCARS, where at is ya? And you'd better be careful claiming Dave L as a "friend" (you may want to edit your profile, eh), cuz I work in his shop (Bass Central), matter of fact I TEACH there (leaving to give a lesson in a little bit...). One thing that makes me question your claim is the fact that you're obnoxious, which he is far from, and isn't too tolerant of. So, stand up and be counted man - if you're so hot, why don't ya stop and and blow me away? If not, why don't ya just blow?

I'm gonna be out of town for a bit (gotta gig in Paris this weekend), but you name the day, and I'll make sure to be there, hot shot.

WHINEYGRUEL,

Mad? Are you serious? Well, maybe mad in the sense of "Madly laughing my *ss off at the biggest CHUMP to visit the forum since *SSVIRTUOSO graced these very pages" mad, but if you mean "angry" mad, then you are quite sadly mistaken. Simple fact is, it takes a lot more than a self-impressed dipsh*t who can't spell or produce a complete sentence in the English language to make me genuinely angry. If you were to show up at my house and harass my wife or something like that, THEN I'd be truly angry, but if you're trying to p*ss me off online, you're gonna have to do a lot better than "A BBAASE PLLAYYUR WIF NNO SKKIILLS AN A BIIGG MOOUUFFF, WOE, THEEERRRES YUR PITUUR FIITTZY!" And I mean WAAAAAAAY better.

Your scant profile lists your occupation as (I'm paraphrasing here), "EYEE PLAY SESSIONES AND TEECH". Wow, that's impressive. From the look of it, the local business must be really booming, huh? In fact, business is so good that you have to show up at a BBS with a very specific NO-SPAM policy and start trying to drum up some students at $10 a pop. I think you'll find that nobody around here is dumb enough to go for that, especially considering that there are a goodly number of pros on the board who are all too happy to help others out with their theory and technique (oh, sorry - that's T-E-C-H-N-I-Q-U-E, keep at it, you'll get there) for a nominal fee of ABSOLUTELY NOTHING if only they will ask the questions in an intelligent manner. In light of this fact, why the hell would anybody want to pay you for your "got questions i got answers just ask, yup, yessiree i got all kindsa answers not only that i got skills" advice, which even the advertising for is almost completely incomprehensible?

You seem eager to challenge those on the board to display their credentials before you deign to take them seriously. Fine. I teach undergraduate courses in composition, jazz harmony, and orchestration at Bellarmine University, and a graduate level course in Jazz Theory at the University of Louisville. I also teach privately and play 130-150 jazz gigs a year. If you're interested in who I play with, check my profile, and I suspect you'll recognize a name or two there.

Now, the REAL question - the one everyone else on the board has been trying to ask and being ignored for their troubles: WHAT ARE YOUR CREDENTIALS? "EYE TEECH AND PLAAY SESSIONESSS" isn't going to cut it if you're going around trying to challenge everyone else's credibility. WHERE do you teach? WHO do you play with? WHAT STUDIO are you working for as Florida's greatest kept recording secret? And, like Pacman so rightly points out, why don't you PUT YOUR MONEY WHERE YOUR MOUTH IS and post some examples of your self-proclaimed musical genius so we can all listen and then fall to our knees in homage to the master?

I got questions. I just asked. You got answers?

Well, looking on the net, there is a "Chris Wynn Guitars" 4328 NE 12th St., Ocala in Florida. The contact phone number is (352) 694-1169.

They are listed as dealers for the MTD Kingston on the MTD site:

This is all really amusing. I know about "this" much music theory (holds fingers a millimeter apart.) But, it takes zero knowledge of music theory to tell that you're a fake. We've seen your kind around here before. I bet I know who you are.. you're Kevin what's-his-name, from the old Lakland board, right? I remember he talked just like you, and when he finally posted his MP3s, they were utter crap.
Go sell your correspondence course to some girl scouts or something.
