come to think of it, I've played in Ocala a couple times with the Army (few years ago, I guess before the bustling session scene). Seemed like just around the corner from nowhere.

Never heard of any local bass players, tho.

Well, I now gotta jump in and defend Ocala.

It IS the home city to Steve Morse and Dave LaRue. That doesn't give any creedence to SIN-TIN-CAR'S attitude or claims, though.

Note that these gentlemen LIVE in Ocala, they don't work there too often (Dave will do an occasional local gig from what he's told me, but nothing too often or steady). There isn't really much of a "scene" there, but it is a nice enough town, just a bit too warm in the summer for me (yes, it's worse there than it is in Orlando, Munji ). My in-laws live about 20 minutes west of there, I get over that way a good deal.
