Until open strings involved, and the left hand (fretting hand) position demands us to move to the left side of first/lowest/root note to go to higher notes instead of move to the right side as usual
Also the wider fret space and wider neck near the open strings stretch my fingers harder. And I found it harder to keep strictly alternate my plucking fingers in the right order in that position.
