What's the worst car you ever owned?

My buddy had one, we called it the 'grenade.'
My worst was a 84ish Mitsubishi Ram pickup. I'm convinced it was payback for Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
It was a 1970something Fiat Spider
twin Webers that just plain would not work.
I spent weeks working on that car only to have it end up sitting way more that it was ever driven.
I usually feel a sense of loss when I sell a vehicle that I put a lot of sweat into..... Not that one, I was glad to see it go!

Chryslers owned by Fiat now. Don't expect it will make much difference that Italians run it...
As for made in USA... That just means assembled. On a USA OEM car, ~60% of content is foreign made, and gets bolted together here. Difference is whether profits go to companies in USA, Japan, Korea, Germany, etc.

That's fair. While I don't entirely agree with that sentiment (read: I would most certainly consider a new 300C in the future when I become less poor
), I can understand why you hold it.
Unless you're talking about the Chrysler bailout of the late 70s (which they paid back in its entirety), the more recent bailouts of GM and Chrysler have absolutely nothing to do with your 2004 truck.

Mammogram is down but I'm working manually
2003 Saab, hunk of useless. All of the below was in the first 2 years. Sold it before it hit end of warrantee.
- After opening the glove compartment maybe 10 times, finish wore off the button.
- Stereo would sometimes turn on, sometimes not
- Ignition electronics changed 3 times in the first year - I had 4 different keys in 12 months
- Two windows literally broke raising them in the first year...cable snapped, windows cracked. Glad it had started to rain
- Trunk latch broken, wouldn't open
- Sunroof wouldn't close (sensor changed 4 times). See "raining" above
- Dashboard electronics would all flash on randomly while driving
- Ran out of gas with 110 miles showing as left before empty
- A/C died at 10,000 miles
- Rubber gasket around front and back windows disintegrated in 2 years.
That's all that I remember. GM ruined Saab as I had friends with much older Saabs that were built to last and still running strong.

My worst was an 85 Jeep Cherokee with a 2.5L 4 banger. I have never had a vehicle leave me on the side of the road as much as that pile.
My best is my current vehicle. 2007 Dodge Ram 4 door. 112000 miles and it doesn't have a squeek or rattle in the interior, and runs and drives as good as it did new.

My wife's 2006 Chevy HHR. Absolutely the worst pile of crap we have over owned. We still have it because it has been paid off since 2008 and we don't want another car payment but here is the list.
1.Car would shut off when you hit a bump. This took a year for GM to figure out. 6 trips to dealer later and a really angry email to GM finally got me a resolution.
1. A/C failure twice. Bad compressors replaced under warranty.
3. Cam Position Sensors failed. Replaced both myself.
4. Cam Position Actuator failed in the exhaust side (replaced intake as well). Replaced both myself. Not under warranty. Dealer wanted $389.00 each to do it. It takes a half hour to do yourself. Thieves!!!
5. Front brake rotors warped at 22,000 miles. Chevy said it was normal wear and tear and not covered under warranty WTH? Did it myself. Warped again 10,000 miles later. No mountain driving and no hard stopping. Through out the stock rotors and bought EBC aftermarket rotors and Raybestos ceramic pads. Problem solved. Stock GM parts are junk.
6. Sway bar end links failed at around 30,000 miles. I replaced the with Moog after market parts which are much better and are serviceable.
7. Automatic transmission pan started leaking. This was the OEM part. Did it myself. Found to weird pieces of red plastic in the factory installed fluid?????
8. From motor mount broke. Probably due to the cam position actuator failure. This caused the tranny to shift really hard from first to second and second to third gear. This was causing so much shock that it cracked the front motor mount. I got one from a wrecking yard and installed it myself.

Mine was a 1990 Dodge Shadow. The horn didn't work, automatic windows were stuck down, and you couldn't get the thing above 55mph. I was glad to see it burn up on the side of the highway.
My current car, a 2008 Volkswagen Jetta. All the parts are cheaply made and break easily but are more expensive than the parts for my mom's Lexus.
As sold they were a pile, but after defederalizing mine it was one of the best rides I ever had. Stock carb was crap and the engine management nonsense they added was excessive.
Other than some jumpers in the electronics and removing many federally mandated items mine was stock for most of its 250000 miles. At 175 I gave it a Weber and some Clifford goodies. I only sold it when there wasn't enough Jeep left to bolt parts to. Salty roads suck!
I have liked all of my cars but my Volvo was the hardest one to keep running. It was a transitional model - 89 765 Tic and had many parts that were only on that model. I was stranded waiting for parts way too often with that one. Too bad, it was fast, comfortable and could haul massive amounts of stuff. Sold it for more than I paid for it though.
1983 Olds Cutlass Supreme. I think I had to have every switch, button and component replaced on that car including the motor and tranny. The paint/clear coat came off in sheets when I drove it, the oil gauge leaked oil into the drivers side floor, and the headliner was held up with rock band buttons from the record store I worked at. It was an automatic, but you had to manually shift it up every time you accelerated after coming to a stop sign.

Also I recently sold my 2005 Dodge Magnum R/T. That thing would pass everything except a gas station. I loved that car, but it was a real heap. I had to get three sets of tires before it turned 60K, brakes and rotors twice, the rear hatch leaked, and sometimes it would just die when you were going down the road. you would have to throw it in neutral and restart it and hope the guy behind you didn't plow into you in the process. The radio had a six disc changer, and one time it ate six cds.
Yikes, there was so much more wrong with that car but it pains me to discuss it. Suffice to say that was my first and last Chrysler product.

1995 Geo Metro, with the 4 cylinder. No ABS, no power steering, eventually wouldn't make left turns.
I worked for Avis in the early 90's. On cold ND winters we would park the metros with the front bumper 6" from a light pole or fence or whatever was handy. They would never move (I mean no movement at all) on cold mornings so first thing in the morning we would start them and put them in gear. Whenever we saw one up against what we parked it by we knew it was finally mobile and rentable. Averaged 30 minutes before they were mobile - note I didn't say driveable. They were possible the crappiest pile of junk I ever had the misfortune to operate. Sunbirds were a close second and the base Lumina a close 3rd. My 79 f100 outhandled all of them with old tires!
Well, I had a Yugo for five years. I guess technically, I should say that. But it got me through four years of college. All Bosch parts etc.
'88 or '89 I forget. Yes, I guess it was my worst car overall, but it was better made than many American cars of the same year. And 3 grand new.
