What's the worst car you ever owned?

For me it was a 2008 Hyundai Tiburon which my mom suckered me into buying because she thought I looked cute in it, all throughout high school I had to pull off the center console in the parking lot just to wiggle the wires to get the radio and AC to work and it got the same gas mileage as a big Buick LeSabre I traded it last year for a Cadillac DeVille and I could not be happier.

So what is your worst car?

I drive a 94 VW Golf that I pretty much hate. No radio, no AC, and gets 22 MPG which is pretty pathetic for a car that size. Not to mention all the things that have broken down on it...

In the 80's I had a Chrsler mini van for a work truck. I really didn't own it but I drove it all day and bought it home with me at night. I named it Singer becuase when you stomped on the gas peddle it sounded like a sewing machine, nothing else happened though. What a gutless piece of junk.

Really stupid disposable cars, designed by people who just didn't care.

Afterwards I bought a '70 Toyota Corrolla. The difference in quality and reliability was such that I didn't even consider buying an American vehicle for 25 years - and what I bought was a truck. Now it's been over 30 years since those Cheverolets - I still won't buy an American car.

'95 Saturn wagon. Oil burner practically from day one. Engine disintegrated at 70k miles.

1984 Renault Alliance.
It came with my first wife.
Biggest POS ever built. One problem after another. I got so sick of working on that thing. After working on it the last time I took it for a test drive out in the country and for some reason it caught on fire. Luckily a friend happened to be driving by and stopped to help. He had a fresh 12 pack in a cooler and we sat and watched it burn to the ground.
That was one of my happiest days.

I wish it was as easy to get rid of the first wife!!

Worst car I've ever driven was a Chrysler PT cruiser that was a rental for an old job I had... not only did I feel like an absolute tool in it, but it handled and drove like a shopping cart on the verge of suicide.

1984 Renault Alliance.

Iirc Motor Trend magazine named that heap "car of the year" in 1984, and it's sibling (The Renault Encore) was dubbed "the one to watch."

Both of them turned out to be steaming piles of poo, and now when you see a Motor Trend coty poster chronicling past winners they conveniently leave 1984 out.

I got one of those in 2010 when I was in college for $700, I spent a couple hundred bucks on it, like transfering the title, alternator etc. It kept blowing fuses and a small wiring fire happened under the hood. I was trying to sell it but I had no interest. I had around $900 bucks into it when someone pulled out in front of me, totalling the truck. I got $1950 for the truck and $1500 in medical, even though I was totally fine. That gave me great memories of the truck

Finally a thread I can contribute to:

1965 Ford Cortina: an English car that cost me way too much money in repairs. Crummy electrics (Lucas!) crappy engine.

The other was a 1970 VW camper. The bulk and weight of this body was too much for the engine and transmission, both of which went out completely, the engine twice. Good riddence.
