Whats the worst combo you've ever owned?

trace elliot 4x10 combo forgot the model name but its was beyond heavy lacked balls but i must admit it sounded great.
My 30 watt Rogue practice amp was better than the Ashdown Electric Blue 15" that I had for about 3 days. I hated that little bastard. Terrible combo.
Fender Bassman 10.
70 watt, all tube, 410, two channel piece of sh*t.

I've had a Marshall 60, which was a 60 watt rms Marshall bass amp that I got for $250 along with $250 for a Fender JP-90 bass guitar with a hipshot drop D tuning key on the E string.
I wouldn't go as far as to say it was the worst combo I ever owned, it did it's job for what it was and it worked till I sold it to our guitar player's girlfriend's daughter.
I actually opened up for Peter Frampton back in the mid to early 90's and used that Marshall 60 as my stage monitor and used the DI out on the amp to go to the PA, it sounded great!!.

I bought a 1x15 to replace my blown Rouge starter combo and then that blew up 6 months after I bought it. I tried replacing the fuse but no dice. I cannibalized the cab and still use it today with an upgraded 4Ohm Eminence speaker.
I finally upgraded to real gear and haven't had a problem since.

nemesis 2x10 - I hated it. it was horrible. Worst tone I've ever owned. Got it in a trade deal and it lasted maybe a month... I wanted something lighter and more portable but - I ended up carrying my old 100 lb Music Man monster 2x12 and Crown CE-1000 rack anyway - at least it sounded good. my motto ? combo amps suck.

I detest the stupid little 30 watt randall bass amp I started with. The speaker was massively underpowered, dime everything on an active bass and play hard and it sounded like a mouse coughing... the speaker just didn't care.

Worst I had was a Gorilla, and it was good for nothing. I don't even remember what happened to that P.O.S. but I'm glad it's gone.....
Behringer BX600. Got one when I first started playing bass. When I got it home the speaker rattled horribly. They sent me another. I don't think you can make a cheaper quality amp. I upgraded the speaker and sealed the shelf port and re-ported it. It sounded much, much better. I sold it to a local church where it is in use every week.
Way Way back in the 80's I had a really large heavy combo that I'm not sure if it was made by Roland or Peavey? I remember it being very tall with 15" speaker or speakers and sounding like total crap.
10w Silvertone. Total piece of crap. Got it free with an SX P bass, I bought. Lasted a couple of weeks before I tossed it. :scowl:
Fender Bassman 100 with 15 inch speakers. I could not get any tone I like out of it. All Fender amps sounds good w/ Fender bass, but it's a hit or miss if you use other brands. To top it off, I paid way too much for it. I had more fun playing my 15 watts Crate amp than I do with this POS. :scowl:
I've owned lots of combo amps over the years. Most, I'd have to say, were pretty decent for what they were. It's easy to go hating on combo amps, because most players have unrealistic expectations of what it can do. You have to remember, generally speaking, the box for the speaker is usually too small for the speaker itself, and power is usually pretty short. But, as a practice tool, most of them do a fairly good job. When you expect a little 100 watt 1x15 combo to keep up with drums, and guitars, you always lose. Just the same, you've gotta start somewhere, right. So, the worst I've ever had was an Ampeg BA210SP. Crappy effects patches, and for a 220 watt 2x10, not much good clean volume. Otoh, their B100R is fantastic, and my current BA112 is an awesome little practice amp. Then there's the Mesa Walkabout Scout. Absolutely astonishing how good it sounds. All combo amps should be that good, then we wouldn't have this here thread.
SWR LA10, maybe I was asking to much of it. Wanted to use it to play along with music on my computer. Not even good enough for that. Farted early and often. Gave it away.
The worst for me would be a crate bx15. the worst rig would have been a peavey series 400 with the matching 215. those things where horrible. I also wanted to say that I had a weird dream once where I was talking to another bass player before a show. he was showing me his rig witch consisted of like 50 little combos all linked together to create a gig worthy rig. it to sounded horrible.
