Whats the worst combo you've ever owned?

I've never owned one but have used the Yamaha several times at rehearsal rooms that had one and I really liked it, nice old school tone. Wouldn't buy one as it is huge, heavy and doesn't have a XLR out jack. The absolute worst combo I've owned was a Marshall 60w combo that was my first amp in the 80's, somebody mentioned this earlier in the thread. Really wimpy with no tone whatsoever, the EQ is a disaster, sounds bad at all settings, I'm glad I got rid of it. Fast.

I've never owned either of these, but there's two combos I have tried playing through with less than stellar results. Ampeg BA115.. No SPL.. A medium-loudness drummer drowned this out. I did one night use the preamp out to drive my larger rig (DCM600/2-12"s) and I was suitably impressed w/the tone.
A couple years back I was doing a guest appearance w/my old 50's showband, and the bass player had an SWR combo. No PA support, and again no SPL. Full up cranked and I couldn't hear myself standing 2 feet in front of the amp. IMO if a combo amp does not push at least 500W, its useless for stage use..

Behringer Ultrabass BXL1800, I was just getting into bass and I figured it was a cheap amp, at a fair price. I liked it for the EQ control, and the 2 channels. Then after a year it broke go figure, so I got a used Ampeg svt200t and never looked back lol. The fact that Behringer is still is in business is beyond me.

I think the Hartke Kickback 12, was the worst, however evry single combo I ever owned sucked, except the Eden ones, and still they also weighed too much, except the CXC410 combo. That one was sweet. Just underpowered. Should have come with the WT-550 head in it, then it would have been a keeper. Other than that one, every combo amp, including the other Eden ones weigh twice what they should, and have half the power that they should.

I still have the old US made BXR100 and I love it. It doesn't have much features and compressor so I guess you've got different model.

The worst combo I played was current Fender Bassman. It was one big glitchy filth.

Up until recently my main amp was a peavy tnt 115. for various reasons i couldn't use any of my eden/ashdown gear. thoroughly disappointed i trudged off to the gig only to coax the most funky tone ever from the hunk of junk. i was trying to sell the darn thing but after that i think even if it is my bedside table i may keep it around. not defending that piece by any means, i just thought that i would say it's been here a few times already, but def not the worst thing i've ever played through. i'm going to go with anything in the 15w range. ew.

It's the stinky poo poo! Unfortunately, I actually still have this piece of dung.

Volume: At full volume, you can easily talk over it...that's right...I said TALK not yell.
Tone: abyssmal; no lows at all. Tone goes from high to higher. Has one 8" car speaker in it.
Features: What? This thing has features? Where? Well, OK it has a headphone jack. Not sure why since this thing has almost no volume anyway. Oh, and it actually has a Line Out! LOL!! I guess Gorilla figured that the tone was so awesome that you'd be dying get record through this 20 watt box. HA! HA!

Yes! That's the same one that I had. Does yours have the "funk" button? I was disappointed that it's not heavy enough to use as a boat anchor, maybe a doorstop? :p

Not really a combo, but I played through a Bergantino IP112 last year and it was a total piece of garbage.







Actually, it was a superb piece of gear and I really want one. I just wrote that first bit to make me feel better about not being able to justify buying one right now. It hasn't worked, though. :bawl:

I had a behringer combo ( don't remember what model, but it was the 12" kickback model )... I only owned it for 30 minutes. I went and got it at GC to have a practice/coffee house gig amp... and it broke somehow inbetween the store and my house. It worked in the store, and when I got home I plugged it in and nothing. A close second would prob be my old Fender Frontman 15B that I got when I first started to play.
