Whats the worst combo you've ever owned?

a 150w behringer combo that belonged to the bassist of the other band in my old rehersal space. It was a genuine POS :(

Surprisingly, he built a big 2x15" cabinet and plugged and hooked it up to the combo, bypassing the built in speaker, and it sounded pretty damn good :P

Tone: abyssmal; no lows at all. Tone goes from high to higher. Has one 8" car speaker in it.
Features: What? This thing has features? Where? Well, OK it has a headphone jack. Not sure why since this thing has almost no volume anyway. Oh, and it actually has a Line Out! LOL!! I guess Gorilla figured that the tone was so awesome that you'd be dying get record through this 20 watt box. HA! HA!

Same one I had also. I ended up giving it away.

I've had two hartke 15" combos. One was like blue lettering, with an aluminum cone driver. Like 140w. I think it was the 1415 model. But don't really remember. That thing sounded terrible. I paid like $150 used while my carvin rig (awful) was in the shop.

I bought it because years earlier I had a hartkeB90. My mom bought it for me, brand new when I was in highschool. For my birthday or something. I think it was like $400 dollars. (Obviously I could have got a used peavey115 cab and like a mark 3 and still had 200 left over)
Anyway, I remember that combo sounding great. I wish I still had it. But, who knows. That probly blew too.

So for me. Hartke 1415. Clanky. messy. Bad tone. I wouldn't recomend that amp to anyone, ever.

I had that one, or something like it, back in the late 80's. I traded it to my cousin for some hair metal CD's (it was the late 80's).

GREAT concept, unbelievably bad execution. It weighed 80+lbs, was supposed to be a full range or biamped system, but the speakers were so poorly matched to the head/cab it ate cones and coils likes chips and dip.

At a practice room volume it sounded fine, but who wants to lug that fridge around for practice? On a stage it sounded like someone clapping their hands while farting. When I gave up on it, pulled the head, and started putting the 600RB on top of REAL properly tuned/matched cabinets, I got more compliments from sound crew than for any other rig I'd owned.

Never should have sold the head, but that combo stank like a skunk on a hot day.

Mine was uglier than yours, but it sounded OK until it died. I threw a new Eminence Kappa Pro 15 in it and used it as a 1x15extension cab. It was still ugly but it sounded great as a cab! :D

Hah! That might be my amp! I owned it in Honolulu back in the mid-80s and got rid of it in some sort of trade. Maybe it made its way to the Big Island.

Rogue 15 inch combo. Thank god I didn't make the mistake of buying this thing. I only had the misfortune of having to play through it for a rehearsal once (it belonged to the band leader). I wouldn't know where to begin to describe it's deficiencies.
Just awful.

On the other hand, I love, love, love my BA110 practice amp. When Ampeg gets something right, they get it RIGHT.

Well, let's see:

there was the Ibanez SoundWave SW65 that sounded almost ok...until the Bongo blew it up.

there was the Carlsboro Stingray 150w that took dull thuddishness to new extremes.

but the prize must surely go to the very unlovely Kay Catalogue 35w combo that weighed about the same as a neutron star and really should only have been used in a total vacuum.
