What's the worst that could happen replacing a bridge?

The worst that could happen is the world might end while you are in the middle of your swap/repair, but if you go slow and pay attention to what's happening, it should be fairly painless. Take pics BEFORE you mess with anything, preferably with a small scale showing where the break is relative to the nearest pickup in case your original bridge is laid out differently than the replacement.

And don't ever forget, the devil truly lives in the details so take it slow and easy until you get a feel for it. It's not rocket science.

The worst? You use a worn screwdriver bit and strip a screw head. Your diesel mechanic buddy lends you some kind of strange easy-out thing, but you slip when using a hand drill and suddenly have an extra hole. In frustration, you start prying the bridge off with a chisel and screwdriver. It doesn't work so you get another bright idea of using a propane torch to remove the screws. After you set the bass on fire, the fire department is slow to respond because they're having an in-house chili cookoff. Your home is reduced to ashes. Without your home providing balance against all the basements around the world filled with old National Geographic magazines, the planet changes it's axis tilt. This upsets the solar orbital equilibrium. Mercury is the first to be sucked in to the sun. The resulting explosion produces a fireball that consumes Venus and our home. Not to mention the effect on the galaxy and local group.

Don't screw up!
I was hoping someone would mention the possibility of upsetting galactic equilibrium.
It could change the gravitational field enough to reverse the expansion of the universe to the point of initiating a "big crush?" You know, everything collapsing in on itself to the point of being a singularity?
I don't see any scenario worse than a universal mulligan, but maybe that's the only way to set things right?
The upside is that maybe in the new order of things, the bass player would get all the girls and the lead singer would be weird looking and hang back by the amps?
