Well, it's kinda odd that you've been "reading on here about Warmoth" and have no idea what it is. Perhaps I'm getting something lost in translation between British and American English. I'm guessing that if you've been a member since February, you might have been able to find out something about Warmoth.
Ironically, you're supporting my point. Of those 50 Fender P-Bass threads, probably 43 of them were redundant. You might not need to slog quite so much, if those 43 new thread posters would have just asked in an existing thread, then contributed to the conversation. Not doing so is just lazy. And for the record...I am charming.
So really...you're supporting my point, too. You simply want the redundancy limited to Fender threads. Just look at any of the Fender threads like "P vs. J" or whatever. Guaranteed to find a response about searching first. It's just a response to the redundancy.
I agree wholeheartedly. Look, this is a cool place to share information, experiences, and ideas. But why always in a new thread? If folks would just stop being lazy, it wouldn't be so hard to find the wanted information. These new threads rely on someone who has the answer reading the first page at that exact moment. So many folks are posting so often (redundancy, again), that a new thread will be on page 8 in an hour. Common sense would dictate that one could ask better questions (and get better answers and discussion) in a thread in which already-interested TBers are subscribed. That's why there's a sticky in the "Basses" forum about the "best bass for metal". That question was asked multiple times every day! It's a little like walking up to a stock-boy in the cereal aisle in the market and asking, "Where are the Corn Flakes?".
That thread is funny, and I am an old fart, but I'm not trying to be mean. I spend a good bit of my down time at work (so I have that 12x) on TB, and that old fart has it right. I'm just trying to educate some of the newer users and make TB a little less cluttered.
Adding to the Warmoth discussion...I have an unlined Warmoth fretless neck on my PJ bass and it's awesome. Never needs adjusting because of the stabilizing rods, great craftsmanship in the production, and excellent customer service before and after the sale.
