What's up with Electric Amps?

I've been on the different websites for days trying to get a straight answer and all I want to know is this:

1. Where do I get one
2. How much will it cost
3. How long will it take

All those websites are part of Electric. Apparently it takes a few years to get one. Go to http://scienceamps.com/ and check out the Mother if you need a 200 watt KT88 bass amp with an FAC. You'll get it in two months and you'll actually get an e-mail response from Alex. I've heard people hit up the EA guy with cash in hand and don't end up with one because he never gets back to him.

As silly as this might sound, I'd be able to justify getting a Verellen if they weren't so aesthetically ugly. $3K for an amp that has it's gem light mounted on a 1" machine washer is icky to me.

Yeah, EA is just too busy. I knew a guy with two Green heads and two Green cabs, said it took way too long and he never really got to use them because of the wait. Also there was a big money-related falling out with Sleep, the band that made EA famous.

As for a used EA, the only ones I knew of were for sale buy the guy I mentioned earlier. And they sold on Reverb last month. He had a Power Unit, Volume Unit, 2x15 and 6x10.

I'm pretty sure I *NEED* a 200 watt, KT88 bass amp, but I don't know a FAC from a FAQ. Can anyone explain "FAC" ?

F.A.C. - Frequency Adjustment Control. It's the 6-position "depth" control found on Matamp heads that shifts the input capacitor to better suit your guitar or bass. (i.e. allowing for more or less low end and mid frequencies to hit the first stage of the amp as you switch positions)
