What's with the knobs?

Okay. I'm not sure i've ever seen knobs set up like this on a jazz bass before.
My geddy came like this setup from the shop. This is a picture of the knobs full on

and heres a picture of my '04 MIM jazz with the knobs full on setup from the shop ( a different store)

now.. I know i can change this easily. I dont really care enough to. But, who has theirs set up like that geddy? I've never seen it like that before i got my geddy... Is it just because the shop i go to is weird?

i have a 60th anniv jazz deluxe active
it is setup with full on like the geddy, to me your other jazz is odd to me. Its preference, and a couple of the newer fenders are using that setup i think.

haha i get it. but nah, i wasnt worrying about it, i just found it strange that ive never seen a bass with knobs put on there like that. thats all. just thought i'd ask which people on this forum see most.

It's simple really. Your knobs go to eleven. See, most blokes they go all the way up, all the way up, and where can you go from there? Nowhere, exactly. On your bass, when you need that extra push over the cliff, you know what it does? Eleven, exactly.

I have a jazz with precision style knobs...you can change your knobs too, then you won't have to worry about it. Mine came originally like that though.

Well, now you've got me wondering so I went and checked my '08' Fender MIA JAZZ V and the knobs are setup like the Geddy. Unbelievable!!

I think that makes it rare & vintage. Probably custom shop as well.
