That assumes the speakers are in working condition.

Personally I would be asking why somebody spent more on the wrong speakers than the intact cab is worth, and then immediately sold it to GC for 1/4 their cost.

Simple idea from a simple mind...low end excursion.

My guess is that they had to replace the original 8" Speakers that were built by Bag End (I had those in my original SWR Baby Blue 2x8) because the originals had foam surrounds that would deteriorate over time and become unusable. SWR used Celestion 8" Drivers in the second version of the Baby Blue 2x8 When SWR stopped production on the Baby Blue 2x8 an Henry the 8x8 there weren't any options for a replacement 8" bass driver. Eventually, Fatal, Ciare, and Eminence produced a 8" bass driver, but they were out of production for a long time. Incidentally, Pyle produced the original bass speakers for the GK 200MB combos. Obviously the replacements in this cabinet were all wrong, but Pyle did build musical instrument speakers because of their experience in car audio subwoofers in tight spaces. Just my take of course.

The Dayton PA200-8 is a great driver for that cab. I've recommended this driver years ago for someone here on TB and he was more then satisfied with the results.

Those Daytons are 8 ohms, are you sure they can be wired correctly in this cab?

There actually has been replacement drivers available for that cabinet for years, ironically a driver that I designed that was a Neo 8" that was being considered for a revision to the SWR line (during the GoLite era). Ultimately, Fender shut down the SWR brand and it became a moot point. The driver was the same as used in the Shuttle 8T and UberQuad 1288 and we sold some for 8x8 replacements. They weren't a "cheap" replacement but they were good and much lighter weight.

8 ohms yielded a 4 ohm 8 x 8 cabinet. I still have a set of 8 new in a box sitting on my shelves. I don't recall it any tuning changes were needed.

Just to further elaborate, it sounded alright with this Old Peavey Pre/Power amp that was also for sale. Got it home and it was fart city. I wanted an 8x8 so I bought it since it was cheap. But pricing out 8 speakers was super pricey. And the cab itself is just deep enough to prevent me from being able to close the Tonneau cover on my truck, so that was the ultimate dealbreaker. Easy return policy, worth a shot. But yeah those speakers ain’t it. I was able to grab the grill and move it off the speakers didn’t really help
