None of my instruments have names. But, wouldn't 'Thumper' be a good name for a bass? That little rabbit in Bambi?

name all my instruments!!!!! And yes it is silly bordering on the:

I would, but of course I'm drawn to the names of girls who I either want, or sort of have; And you oughtn't to publicize that sort of obsession by anchoring it to your bass. So yes both of my basses have names, and they are top secret.
Since I'm the bass player for the praise group "Grace On Fire", I named my bass "God's Thunder"!!!!!
I named my highly modified 67 EB3 Pearl for the pearl inlaid in the hand carved body. My last project bass I named Roadblock because nothing fit properly "roadblock at every turn" and had to be modified. Lightest P bass ever 7lbs.

Ibanez SR506 "Maria", because how many Maria's have you known that weren't sexy?
Frankenstein J-Bass "Esther", named after a girl in class because I thought her name would make a good name for an instrument. 5 years later, we started dating, another year later I married her.

Warwick Streamer LX5 - "Marie" (Middle name of my fiance who got me the bass as an early wedding present. Figured after we get married and her maiden name becomes her middle name, I should pay some homage.)
Fender Precision American Deluxe - "Janus" (Seriously, this bass can do it all... so I like to this it has many faces.)

Ibanez Iceman Bass ICB200 - "Bobby"
Dodge Magnum - "Hector"

Fender Precision American Standard - "Penelope" (Yup, Penelope the P Bass.)
Fender Strat Deluxe MIM - "Jezabel" (Played this old girl in my church praise band in high school.)
Friends:
"Game Stop" (Ironicly enough, never worked there, and isn't really a gamer, just kinda has that "look".)
"Chuck Norris" (This guy's name is actually Chris... ZERO likeness to Churck Norris, but the name stuck.)

I've named my basses. When i first started learning and trying to find "the one" I went through a couple different basses..... When i found it I named her to give her my personalized touch.
It's kinda like a lost puppy, you don't want to name it coz you'll get attached.... And if you do, your hooked!
I kept all the other basses I had since and they all have names.... Lucy, Ethel, Ricky, Fred and Cindy
You never hear hear people 'naming' pedals since preferences of pedals is determinant of types of sound you want..... And for some that change is frequent.

Inamed my RBX170 Sin-i-ster because it has a wicked shape but, she's on display duty for right now on her stand.
I named my ATK305 Odin:The God Killer and yes that's his full name. If you've ever played an ATK you'll notice it's heavy and thick and so is the sound. I jokingly call it the God Killer cause it's so damn loud. Of course my Irish-Christian parents hate that so I guess that's partly why I call it that too. Lol

you can't fix stupid and people will name anything. ANYTHING.

Warco (2002 Warwick vette std), Thumper(mystery Squier), Jackie(Dinky DKMG), and I need another name for the new Squier.

One of my friends names all of her short scale six string piccolo basses. Actually, her Rickenbacker has 12 strings, but I digress. I got my Squier VM Jaguar SS bass this past Saturday and emailed several of my friends about this, including her. She asked me what its name is. However, I don't name my stuff. I have all I can do to remember my own name, let alone my musical instruments. How would this work with a drum set? Does the whole set get a name or would I have to name each drum and cymbal? This is NOT hypothetical as I have a drum set.
Two of my three have names. The Fernandes is named MJ. My Washburn is named Karma, as she came to me free in a very cool CL deal. MY $20 Chucker bass refi has no name yet as I she is in pieces. Her name will come after she is together and played.
