What's Your Favorite Dessert?

Yeah, we have them but they're not everywhere like I've heard they can be other places. Another difference, at least between Utah and the ones I saw in St Louis, is that the ones here serve hot food too - burgers, chicken, typical fast food fare. Apparently that's not normal everywhere.

Typical Texas stores have Burgers, Chicken Fried Steak sandwiches they call "The Dude", Country Baskets "steak or chicken fingers", and then of course ice cream.

Grandma called it miracle pie.

It was a down and dirty peach cobbler on a tall cookie sheet ( it wasn't quite casserole height, maybe 2 1/3 or 3 inches tall on the sides but made of cookie sheet metal ) Served warm with evaporated milk poured over it.

I still make it, kids love it :)

I've never been a fan of birthday cakes until my Daughter in Law had one made for my Grandson's 1st birthday yesterday. It was 2 flavours, coconut and the other, Earl Grey (my favorite - pictured). Butter/cream cheese fillings between the layers - delicious! I only asked for the small (for me) piece pictured as we'd just ate and I wanted to show some restraint. Now that I'm getting hungry again, I'm regretting my discretion.

Bakery goods: Opera;Napoleon ; eclairs; studel, etc are my current faves.

Cakes are good too, cup cake size increases variety.

Dark chocolate is an after dinner treat.

Fruit sucks nowadays, from too cold, drought dried tasteless pulp to scorched by the heat and juiceless.

Shoulda ended on a sweet note?

We got a place here that sells cupcakes with cream cheese icing exclusively. I'll end it for ya:
