What's your favorite Rat-style distortion?

Hey guys

I want to add a new distortion to my arsenal (as the only other dedicated bass distortion I have is a b7k) and am thinking of going down the RAT circuit lines.

What is your current favorite Rat circuit? Idiot Effects Blower Box? Modded original? Fuzzrocious Rat-Tail?

Similarly if you have any other distortions that are particularly killing you right now, feel free to mention them. No fuzz please - I already have that more than covered.

Many thanks in advance

Rat King/tail. Also the Blakemore ROUS looks cool. Pro Co just came out with a Fat Rat that might be worth a look too.

Dunwich Volt Thrower looks really awesome but I don't know when production starts for those again.

I haven't tried any other Rat pedals, so I can't say how it would stack up to any of the others mentioned. I know Peter at VFE did a custom version for a TB member once. Peter is great to deal with so you might want to consult him regarding any concerns you might have about the circuit in general. I mean, I like the way mine sounds, but I wouldn't say it has the booming low end of the Blower Box or some others that are so coveted around here (but again, I don't have experience with them).

Different strokes I guess.....

I liked 'em. I thought they were cool. No biggie not have them, that is for sure. But I thought it was a cool touch. Bwtn - smaller size or glowing eyes, I will take smaller size any day.
Agreed on the smaller size!
And yes...different strokes indeed :)

Besides... I have a Rat 2 that sounds surprisingly good..much better than another one I used to have. Interesting, that, I think.
