What's your vacation/travel rig?

I have a travel rig consisting of a status streamline (bought used on CL - honestly weighs 5lbs and sounds amazing) + HX stomp board powered by a CIOKS 4 + laptop battery.

I could honestly make the board smaller but I like having an expression pedal and the additional midi control. My main rigs are bigger helix devices so this way I can futz around with sounds and still translate them back when I get home.

the whole thing is battery powered and fits in a mono electric guitar gig bag with the tick.

Really nice setup. I saw the price on the bass and knew that the Finance Department (wife Carey) would go through the roof over that one! Besides, it's so specialized they don't do a lefty. I already asked!

On a different note, as nice as that setup is, I would add a PJB 77 or PJB something very small if friends came over to jam if I needed just a touch of volume and bass. Nice rig!

I'm putting this on my GAS list.

I REALLY have to get past whatever keeps me from selling stuff. I have so many basses and so much gear I never use. If I start clearing out I can buy new toys with a clear conscience.

My Roland works fine. I have a Blackstar I never use. I have a Roland Guitar Cube too, that never sees the light of day. I can't justify this, no way, no how.

They might not, but if you're interested in that kind of thing and you're willing to go a couple of rounds with the finance department, I'm pretty sure Heiko at Basslab would do it. I'm waiting for him to make my new travel bass, you see, and he's a very friendly, obliging guy

Let me save you a little searching. The main site is BassLab – Basses & Guitars – BassLab is a manufacturer of lightweight, monocoque guitars and basses made from "tuneable composite". (he's based in Germany) but his distributor for Canada and the USA is GH Services.
They're not cheap, but the sound and feel are incredible, especially with Lace Alumitone pickups - which are also remarkably light in weight. I test-played one, and was sold on it immediately. As for durability for travel, Heiko has a history of asking people to stand on them, to prove the point.
There's also a bit of lead-time involved; we settled the design for my fretless STD-IV in the middle of last year, and it's due some time around summer.
