yeah, i will..someone else on here ordered one the same time i did, well both be posting our reviews.

coincidently im seeing a concert thursday night, (ivan nevilles dumpstaphunk :)) so ill most likely bring the pocketrak along for the ride. will post clips of that, if its possible...also wait for the other guys review, too..

i did hear clips recorded from an h2 and wanted to kick myself for ordering the yamaha one..but we'll see how things go..

I've been using the H2 for a few months now and I'm pleased with the results. There might be much better units on the market but for me the H2 is mindlessly easy to use and serves its purpose well. I have nearly zero recording skills but this thing is simple to record with, super easy to download into Audacity, and is built like a tank ..... I must have dropped it at least a dozen times so far and it keeps on kicking ;)

I want simple and clean sounding, and that's what the H2 does. For me, I don't care about any other function other than recording and downloading, and for $200 it's hard to imagine anything out there that would be better. It's far superior to my old Sony Mini-Disc .... :cool:

Don't discount the Edirol. It has superior built-in mics. Although the unit as a whole may be a little on the delicate side requiring care in handling.

I didn't have the money to try them all, so I can't tell you which one is my favorite.

The Edirol R-09 is the one I ended up with and it has proved to be very handy while making great field recordings.

my olympus ws-320m. I only use it to throw down ideas, but it's invaluable - as it's small and can hold tons of ideas. Plus it's so easy to download the wav files via USB.

granted it's not for high quality sound, but when ideas come up, it's "johnny on the spot".

Zoom H2

I found that the silicone cover for it is a good buy too and keeps it from getting mucked up when it gets bumped around. I ended up getting mine for about 180 shipped with a 4GB card.....

It takes some trial and error to find what works for you.....

just set it and forget it....not as good as Daves....but it was fun and my SX bass sounds pertty cool! (With old Kalamazoo Epi pups)

Marantz PM620.

It is a bit more expensive. It also very easy to use, and comes with all the stuff (like an AC adapter.) After living with one for a few months, it hasn't made me cranky.

My favorite use has been recording our practices, and then being able to play along at home. It really sharpened my playing.

I have a Sony PCM D-50. It is pricey but really, really good. very quiet preamps with a lot of gain. It sounds phenomenal, is very easy to use. The limiter really works if you are recording loud bands. It is simple to use, no excess crap you don't need, most of the functions have a switch.... I could go on and on...

yamaha pocketrak sitting on a bench in a rehearsal studio..

excuse everyones playing, the guitarist stinks and we were all real tired..but all the other files are too big to post online, so its all ive got for now.
