You can do what I did. If you have a spare mic stand, use the adapter and afix it to the mic stand as you would a regular mic. Then raise the stand to it's highest (should be about 6-1/2 or 7ft.) and place it behind the band (or rig it where you can drop it from the ceiling). There are ways.

Thats a good idea. I hadnt thought of putting it at the back.
I was thinking of putting it right next to our singers mic stand but it would be out of the way at the back and pick up the monitors much better.

Can the H2 handle stupidly loud rehearsals? I play with a blues guitarist who needs the amp break up sound and it's LOUD! If the H2 can handle what my ears can't (I use ear plugs), then I'm ready to pull the trigger on this unit.

Yeah, as long as the unit is a distance away from his amp. Or do the behind the band setup since his amp will most likely be facing forward. Note: I would never use the HI setting. Always use MID or LO unless you're recording ambient or nature sounds.

I didn't manage to get a H2 over the weekend. Just as well as the gig want great.
I've since been looking in to the Edirol R09HR and that appeals to me more than the H2 at the moment.
I like the idea of being able to change the recording levels with a remote. I could do that while playing.

Well i haven't used many.. but the Zoom H4 i bought my gf for chrissy last year works great for live recordings. It has a built in limiter and comp so it's great in that it even words well for really loud gigs. The audio quality is remarkable IMO.
