Whelp....

Some of the Ford versus Chevy stuff I've seen in person and on other forums is nothing short of legendary..... just like the rivalry between the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins fans.
I was really into hot rods as a kid in the 80's (still am, in many ways) and I remember that debate very well. I remember in Mustang Magazine, they were forced to apologize for putting a Mustang in an issue that had a Chevy motor. People got completely bent out of shape about it.

Most of the brand purists get bent when there's a Chevy engine under the hood of a non Chevy.... I've seen it time and time again.

I've often said the Chevy V8 is the P Bass of the automotive world..... It fits everywhere, it's easily upgradeable and it's the standard that others will be forever compared to.

Not forever. ICE going bye-bye.

That is indeed true. A co-worker wouldn't ride in my Malibu, not because it was a rust bucket, but because his grandfather was somebody important at Ford.

Whatever, it keeps life interesting, as long as it just sticks to quirky things like that and not people getting riled up over the same old ethnocultural and religious stuff and fat shaming and stuff like that.

Maybe someday

Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems to me this pandemic has brought out both the best and the worst in people. I see countless examples of ordinary citizens acting with compassion and generosity toward total strangers.

I've also seen way too many instances of people acting like absolute **** heads in public, for no discernible reason. I suspect a lot of it is ideologically motivated. America is more polarized now than it's ever been and there are countless millions who can't help themselves but to lash out against random strangers who present the appearance of making "lifestyle choices" that somehow offends them.

How dare you drive an electric vehicle and park it in the same lot where I park my gasoline powered car. You're a smug jerk for buying it and you're deliberately insulting me by parking it next to my car. I have no choice but to leave a note on your windshield calling you fat and expressing my hope that you die.

There have been times I have been envious of other people's cars or trucks, but not to the point of harrassing them, especially by leaving an anonymous (hopefully) note. I hope being identified by you for what she did has caused her to rethink some of her actions.

Over the years I've left numerous notes on vehicles that I admired, telling the owner how cool I think their car is.

One certain way to identify the type of person the OP is describing, is if they have one of those black market stickers on their vehicle that shows "Calvin" peeing on something. Usually it's found on a particular American made vehicle and the object being peed on is the logo of another (hated rival) auto manufacturer.

Seriously? That's the most important idea you're carrying around in your noggin, that you think is so important that it needs to be shared with everyone else on the road?

I bet you never suggested their demise. I would also bet that you would tell them to their face what you had written. That is a lot different from what happened to you and speaks volumes about differences between you and the other "person."

some people are so busy expressing themselves that they never bothered to stop and wonder if they should.
