When did American P basses get so good?

+1 The only thing I don't like about my 2012 MIA P bass is the strings.

Tried a 2011 + 2012 the other day. The 2011 played better but I didn't like the colour. Couldn't tell the difference in pickup but I think it's due to the cab and amp I used.

Yep, the same strings but not as good as they were a few years ago.

I bought a used 08 MIM Pbass from a local store about a year ago. It played and sounded really good, it was actually the first fender i liked enough to buy. I have other more expensive basses, but this P Bass just plays and sounds so good it gets played the most now!

i bought a 2012 MIA Fender PBass a little less then a month ago, and WOW it is really really nice, actually so nice that while i could still get a decent price on the MIA's i just bought a jazz as well. and i got it at an incredible price.....right around 1000 bucks. i cant wait until the MIA jazz arrives!
