When Did Molson.....

I can't imagine a situation where someone is stuck with a bottle of beer that they cannot open.

I beleive this and the opposable thumb is the main reason man evolved. You put a bottle of beer in front of him and he'll figure away to get the elixer of the gods out of it.

Sierra Nevada, a California beer, is a twist off. If it's good enough for us, then it's good enough for you screwy:ninja: [get it] canucks. So.....

HAVE ANOTHER BEER YOU HOSER! :D

...a beer thread, and I wasn't notified???

:spit:

There will be repurcussions!!!

FWIW, the BEST beer needs no cap, it comes right from the tap at my favorite restaurant/brewery here in Greensboro, NC, Natty Green's.

That said, if there is a bent-up piece of metal between myself and my refreshment, there is ALWAYS a method of removing said impediment. Always.

...where's Filakovsky???

;)

I have a friend whose belt actually has a legitimate bottle opener built in, but he has to undo the belt to get to it. After going to a fair amount of parties with him, I have seen that kid take his belt of so many times and let's just say the belt isn't always the only article of clothing to come off...;)

I, too, enjoy opening even twist offs with a bottle opener. It's more fun and I like the pop sound.

I had a belt with one in it that didn't require removal. I got some weird looks after offering to open someone's beer then suddenly holding it at crotch level. Good to have around though.

Weird thread. I'm Canadian, yet I can barely imagine a situation where someone willingly drinks Molson's or Labatt's. Well, John Labatt classic is not bad.

What's next - a Kokanee appreciation thread ?! Did I accidentally log-in to Guitarworld.com?

:)

I can dig twist-off caps. Not on wine though. When it comes to beer, I most appreciate the inclusion of a nitrogen capsule.

I do enjoy Molson... but last time I was in Canada, I got hooked on Keith's and Sleeman's...

SOMEONE IMPORT THEM!!!

I'm Canadian too and I won't drink Molson or Labatt unless it's my only choice.

A lot of times, in the absence of a bottle opener, I'll just use a cigarette lighter to strike the lip of the cap, and off it goes.

I prefer Labatt's, though. :)

You're actually right on. That's how me and my buddies do it. Just hold the cap tight and get some leverage with anything solid (not just a lighter, you can use pretty well anything that won't break under pressure; for exmaple my friend used the side of a creatine bottle or something). It takes a bit to perfect, but once perfect they pop with great ease.
