I can make a case for:
A Fender Precision
A Fender Jazz
A Stingray
A Double Bass
A junker bass w/ case to leave at practice spot
Very maybe one more--Electric Fretless, Rickenbacker, Firebird etc.
7 basses is too many. I know because I have 7 and I have one for sale.
You can never have enough basses. I have been collecting for 35 years I have 233 as of right now and there’s one coming in my front door as we speak LOL it’s the brand new Stirling stingray short scale bass. I have a huge collection starting from 1951 precisions made by Tadeo Gomez With the receipt signed with a note from Leo Fender to my father that says any problems just let me know. I’m going to frame that one day. When I die several of my basses will go to certain people the rest will go to a museum of musical instruments. I would like the world to share my beautiful collection one dayWhat is this "enough basses" you speak of?
. In this photograph that is just what I keep at my tattoo studio to play during the day while I’m there and I usually change that up every two weeks and replace each one of those with something else that I have that needs to be played. I worked very hard for each and everyone of them and nothing was given to me free. And I’m not a spoiled little brat. I believe in hard work and I believe in rewarding yourself for that hard workYou can never have enough basses. Nope! No, no no! Not touchin' this. Everyone knows the answer!A simple question...
A simple question...
HilariousWhen you run out of money.
When your credit card is declined because you bought too many.
When your significant other leaves you because you spent all your money on basses.
When you can't walk through your home without knocking a few over.
When you have to rent a storage facility for your family to live in so you basses can have a home.
When the police and emergency crews are called to your home to dig you out from underneath
all of them.
A simple question...

Wow, I love all those basses. Do you have a Jaguar bass by chance? Thank youYou can never have enough basses. I think I posted this response before but, im feeling cooped up & feel like giving some good advice.
Don't keep getting the same kind of bass expecting something different! I think thats the definition of insanity! ie: collecting Jazz basses to find a Pbass sound.
Next time you feel like Acquiring a "new"bass" take an inventory & evaluation of your collection, take note of what's missing... perhaps a MM or active or SS, avoid getting a duplicate. if you have 3 Js & 2 Ps maybe get a P/J or MM unless you need a decent backup, I guess it's the mindset, of these are just tools. makes no sense in having 6 of the exact same hammer, but no screwdriver or drill!?
this paradigm helped me get my arsenal under control, and a method to my gas madness! and gave me many platforms to experiment from! I t also helps expand my tonal horizons too! it narrows down what im really searching for!!
And for some some strange reason my band seems to enjoy my "collection more than I! a dysfunctional bunch of enablers!!
So I guess you have enough when you have 1 of every thing! LOL!![]()

With Covid, most of us have Wild HairI'm not ruling out a wild hair in the future
So the one you kept is...The J?....or the P?At one point I had seven. I sold 6 of them and am fine. It was a hassle having all those basses. These are some of them:

It is funny you mention that...as that was around the time my career really took off35-years-old?? Why is that an option?
LOL...the only way I'll have wild hair anymore is to buy a wig like Phil's
