When do YOU use chorus?

Chorus is one of the few effects I use and I use it subtly - just enough to give the natural sound a little more character when needed. I use it occasionally when soloing to add some tonal depth or when I need to add a slightly "dreamy" sound to ballads, worship songs, and the like.

I do a chord and double stop-heavy solo when we do All Blues, I may use it on that.

I sometimes use my Boss Bass Chorus on a few classic rock tunes, so-called "original heavy metal" things like Stranglehold, Living After Midnight, etc. Just to add some depth, darkness, spookiness, whatever you want to call it. I don't use any other effects - ever - so I can't speak to how it works in combination. I usually just plug my bass straight into my amp with no effects at all.
