When Does Your Summer End?

Mine pretty much ends on Monday. My kids go back to school, and I have to turn in summer school grades. Late summer can be weird. It's still hot, but the pools are closing, football games are played, but it's not yet football weather. The best thing right now about Southern Illinois are all of the beautiful late summer/fall flowers.

Here in San Francisco summer ends when it gets warm. Usually in September. Summer is mostly overcast and chilly here.

We had to turn our thermostats up couple weeks ago, it's cooler now at nights, and the leaves have started to turn. After an eight month winter one month of Spring, and one of Summer it seems like we ARE into Fall now.

Where are you located? It has been a cool summer in the St. Louis area, but I don't see fall just yet.

Personally I don't give a hoot about Summer beginning, ending, or middling. The whole blasted year seems to swish by so fast anymore that I just go with the flow and hardly pay attention to how cold or hot out it is.

Once college football gets rolling, that sort of symbolizes the end of summer for me.
