When dropping the kids off at the pool I like to...

I read.
I spent an hour in there last night, cause I got caught up reading the Jaco Bio. :scowl:

I usually read Magazines like Fender Frontline, or Lakland, or Phil Jones bass.
Ya know, things I wish I could have.

I'm all for magazines. Bass Player and Maxim are what's in my throne room right now. I hate girlie magazines, who really cares which celebs are wearing red dresses or what the hottest eyeshadow is? Blah!

I also like those gadget catalogs like Brookstone, Sharper Image and Hammacher Schlemmer. Nothing like shopping from the throne!

Having young kids in the house, the little room is the only one where I can be left alone for more than 30 seconds. It's come to the point where I'll sit down even if I'm not sending brown trout downstream, if for no other reason than taking a few minutes for some uninterrrupted reading (mags and catalogs mostly). My wife and I both refer to it as "the library". I've even caught my 3-year-old with a magazine on her lap.

It's really time to filter the reading material, however. The pile behind the toilet is nearly to the level of the seat.

Bass Player, Rolling Stone, misc. printed articles/interviews from the internet.

A question, if I may... Does anyone else extend their stay for the sake of a good article? You know, the bathroom equivalent of the so-called, "driveway moment" that NPR always talks about...

[EDIT] AHAHAHA!!! I just NOW got the relevance of "dropping the kids off at the pool!" and I am currently laughing stupidly at work... Thanks, man!
