What if someone fell down the stairs at church? Or a chair collapsed? Or pastor got a little demonstrative during a sermon, started swinging his arm, a cufflink flew out and got someone in the eye? Or if someone fainted from shock because a contemporary worship song did not go to the 6 chord and banged their head, getting a concussion? Etc.

Except a skateboard on a stage where people will walk is an accident waiting to happen just like any other tripping or falling hazard. And yes, we had such an event in our church. We covered the expenses of her dental work because she tripped on something less obtrusive.

Let me guess, you don't wear a helmet when you ride your motorcycle either.

Nope, no motorcycle. When I used to snowboard I wore a helmet and every pad you could think of.

I'm only being semi serious though, I'm aware of safety risks. I would hope though that the OP would make sure the skateboard can't roll. If it can't, I don't see how it would be more dangerous than any other pedalboard that would be onstage.

With the info given, sounds to me like the church may need to examine its real purpose. That's just me though, no one else has to agree.

After I got so much concern on here I did go ahead and devise a way to lock the wheels. I hadn't had an issue usually I'm standing close enough to the board no one else goes in my bubble but I did take into account the safety risk

If some person walks over your pedalboard, is their safety really jeopardized by them slipping/tripping or by you making them understand that you don't walk over somebody else's pedalboard? :) I mean, really, people do that? Walk over people's gear?

Perhaps it was the same bad barre chords through his weekly new boutique guitars and pedals... oh yeah, he was an entertainment lawyer who badly screwed some good people from that church.

This is exactly why I quit going to "church" they get all high and mighty and think they are better than everyone else! Judge not less you be judged right? They sit there and hang on every word the pastor says then hit "memory dump" while heading for the door Then get in their cars (hurriedly) cursing everyone who gets in their way to go do their "godly deeds "(drinking and judging others)

Just a friendly reminder, no specific talk about religion. The mods are pretty hard on this one because it tends to get people all fired up.

Just a reminder, hypocrisy is found in all religions and philosophies. If it's true that the churches are there FOR sinners, I wish they'd do a better job of treating it, instead of enabling it and giving a sense of righteousness, whatever the religion or philosophy.

I'm going to ignore the misused Bible verse and just say this:

If you quit going to church because someone let you down, made you angry, or hurt your feelings, then you have placed your faith in man, not in God.

Churches are full of humans. Humans fail. God does not.
