Where are the 51-56 single coil precision basses?

Fender Japan made a bunch of the single coil Telecaster style basses. Here's mine. I'm trying to sell it locally but no one seems to love the blue floral as much as me, apparently. :(

Why the neck pocket?
I don't understand what he meant with CNC holes in the neck pocket either???
The early MIJ '51 Precisions don't have a CNC hole (early 90s), the later ones have a very small one that can be hidden under a tugbar. They are not as ugly as the ones on USA Fender basses (besides the AVS ones). Mine is a later one. Sorry for the red tugbar...

That green is RIDICULOUS (i.e. stellar).

It turned out well, despite bunch of roadblocks. The first attempt at this body had the wrong neck pocket and the finish looked too dark. The second attempt nailed the color & neck pocket, but the through body string holes were in the wrong place, too far from the neck making a traditional bridge useless. Rather than wait months for a third body, I dropped the Hipshot bridge into place. Effective, if not aesthetically correct. Neck is a Musikraft baseball bat, just awesome.

Hello everyone, I appreciate this type of bass a lot, makes me think of ford F150’s, simple tough machines. Anyway, here are the specs on this one, amd I went through a lot of materials and parts before ending up with this iteration. Neck is a roadworn dirnt, I thought there might be a better neck so I tried a 1 piece allparts, good sounds but lots of dead spots, next was a musikraft roasted maple with a V back, felt good and sounded good but in the end I thought the dirnt sounded more like the old sound I had in my head for these basses.
The body is a 2 piece mjt 51 with belly and forearm cuts, still squared off edges. Under 5 lbs.
Pickups :
Went through the following- nordstrand split coil, fralin split coil, rio grande muy grande, and ended up with the prima stack with 1/4 slugs wound to about 8.7k, the single coil and humbucking version sound very very close to each other so I just wired it as a humbucker. Its clear, thuddy, and warm, but not too warm, the highs are great too. Bridge is wilkinson swivel, tuners are gotoh resolite. Its a perfect bass, with a slight dead spot on the g string 8th fret, but I can live with it.
