Double Bass Where can I get an old Barcus Berry Pickup?

I have heard from various Bass players that their favorite pickup is the Barcus Berry pickup. This is good advice but I have heard that Barcus Berry pickups have gone out of business and I can't find them anywhere. Where could I possably find them? Thanks.

I partly think that my old Barcus Berry sucked. I'm not sure because my old Englehardt sucked more, and didn't project well enough to resonate properly to the pickup. I bought it with a PreAmp that was kind of cool.

i had one til just a few weeks ago, i think i threw it out (on purpose) during some house cleaning. sorry, i wish i could've helped you.

there was one on ebay few months ago..
btw, i use one and its a very nice sounding pu...it lack of trebles imho and i put it on the G side instead the E one.
btw it aboslutely need a preamp.
i bought the BB one with the pu and both are very interesting.
i have no feedback with this system, even close to the amp !

I just got one for $60 on EBay, through my GK it sounds great. Lots of punch and wood like a realist and not invasive. It also seems even across all four strings.
It has really strong, hot signal. I have found the older pickups are worth trying through more modern amps. I am sure this would sound amazing through a Walter Woods or Acoustic Image as well.
It has longish cable to an RCA jack. That is a bit odd. It comes with a 1/4 inch converter so got a coupler and connected my George L.
It seems like it will be great for my handful of amped gigs per year.
I used to get great results from an old brass Polytone bar. It was amazing. I got a later aluminum version and can't get it grounded.

I have a 70's hollow body EUB that came with a Barcus Berry pickup embedded on the E side of the bridge. Very uneven volume across the strings - strong E, weak G.

There is a Barcus berry Bridge on Ebay right now. I bought one of them. I had an AKG pickup bridge on my bass, but it distorted way to easily. So I look forward to the BB bridge.

The clamp BB is the best pick up I have used (that comes off the bass easy). It has a strong output, less feedback than most. I use it on the E string side & cut the bass on my GK - I get solid balance across the strings. If you use less highs it sounds crisp and woody, if you add some mids and highs you can get that juicy '70s Workman/Davis/McBee sound that is a lot of fun sometimes.
I have not heard anything that sounds better that is as easy to take on and off.
