There were in fact folks expressing apprehension about purchases in the long, now-closed thread on this topic.And if anything I would imagine it would help the sales, people snapping them up while they still can. Warranty would surly pass over to fender

Hasn't been Fender in the past. Fender owned SWR for 10 years before shutting it down. And they don't call Squier Fender. Or Gretsch. So I don't know where this idea that Fender traditionally only wants brands to be called Fender came from. If this is the case now, it's a new development.
