Where do the pro's get their gear?

Funny how a lot of the gear worth endorsing comes from companies who don't give anything away. I don't know anyone doing higher profile gigs who bother with endorsements. Fine by me. For example if great player says the TurboTuner they use is the greatest I know they paid full pop and aren't selling me a bag of rocks.

Denmark Street in London used to be the go-to place for everyone to get the good stuff. You could find gear in all the various stores around London, but Denmark Street tended to have the most varied selection - new through vintage. You'd often see named artists in the various shops. Then there was the Bass Centre in Wapping, which was almost overwhelming. But that was a long time ago.

Denmark street these days is a bit of a sad impression of what it apparently used to be. There are a couple of good shops there but I wouldn’t say it’s anything special, especially as a bass player.

So funny. I was in there in June. I think it him talked I with. I was only in there a little bit. He had a beautiful vintage Jazz bass on the wall. I had to get out of there because GAS was starting to build.

I've had endorsements with Ovation and Supro. In both cases, I had to pay 10% below dealer cost, which is normally 50% of MSRP.
