Hmmm....who did you work for?? I too am in the Aerospace industry. I am an Aircraft Mechanic for UPS (A&P)....currently furloughed though:( Hopefully things will turn around soon so I can get back to work. UPS's Aircraft Mechanics are the only work group in contract negotians -AND- we are the only work group with furloughed employees:eyebrow: I was hoping we would have the contract negotiated by now....but no luck yet. It's been alomst three years w/o a contract. I am assuming I have 6-12 more months of the furloughed life-style before I get recalled and/or our contract gets settled.

I probably shouldn't mention exactly who I worked for, but it rhymes with Sunken Aviation and is in southern Michigan. Sunken... hmmm. No recovery in sight for them to hire me back.

Of course, having worked my way up through the company without a degree isn't helping me find work now. Message to all you kiddies out there, STAY IN SCHOOL!!!

I used to work as an engineer for a traveling audio/visual company. When business went south I was forced to find another job. Now I work as a web designer running the online store for a company that sells police gear and sporting goods.

I still do live show recording when I have time. If anyone knows studios in Chicago that are hiring let me know...

I'm an independent strategy, leadership and organization developmental and community engagement consultant to business and government.

In some significant ways, it's a lot like being a professional musician (which I was for 10 years)... I frequently find myself standing in front of groups of people making stuff up on the fly in an entertaining way.

I still play in bands and regularly perform quite a bit.
