Where have all the Zoom B3 's gone?

Now that I have a little cash I can't find hardly any that aren't at or close to new prices. I would think with the B3n out and now the Boss GT -1B that more would be available. This thing has been out for five years. What gives?

IMO, they made a mistake when they didn't include a DI on the B3N.

The B3 does NOT have a D.I. - it has an XLR output, but it is not at mic/instrument level -- it is roughly at line level, like the 1/4" outputs are.

I used mine often as a "D.I." with no problems.

I'm sad to say I sold my B3 a few weeks ago while downsizing my collection and trading up for a new street looper.

It is survived by my B1on, which sort of took over its job anyway, though I can definitely see myself repurchasing one in the future when I'm rich and famous.

It's truly an incredible device, and I hope whoever picks mine up cherishes it.

Ehh, get a Zoom MS 60B and a MXR M81 and call it a day. Get more effects and "true DI" in about the same footprint.

I suppose that there are just a lot of B3 owners who are happy with what they got and are reluctant to part with them. The B3n may not be a slam dunk for everyone who owns a B3. Combine that with the fact that ZOOM has officially announced the end of life for the B3 and you're likely to have a number of people testing the waters to see how much people are willing to pay for a B3, especially if they gig a lot with a B3 and want to hang onto a backup.

IMO, if the lack of XLR output doesn't upset you too much, the improved modeling & tones in the B3n, better switching, and more effects slots make it an easy call. The B3 got my attention and is a cool little pedal. I gigged mine for about 3 years or so.

I picked up one earlier this spring in a pawn shop for under $80.00. Found it to be very handy and useful. I really like the rugged case and all it's cool and very useful features. I have even thought about ordering the expression pedal for it. The only drawback is no aux. input in the B3 but I have found other ways to deal with that. I think bass players have found something that works and will stick to the B3 because of a variety of reasons. Ruggedness, Quality features and sounds, & Large clear displays all go toward what anyone will compare the upgraded version to and will play into their decision to move up to the B3n. The B3 still has a lot going for it.

My #1 favorite feature is that it runs on batteries. I hate wall warts. The preset sounds are all pretty much over the top, but there's some fun sounds to be had with it.

What does that mean, exactly? I've been using mine at church since I got it. Are you saying it would be better to go from my Zoom into a direct box?

I have an ms 60 and use it with an scr-DI. Works great. Sounds very ampeggy.

I might sell mine, I find the ms60 covers me most of the time, as I don't switch more than one effect in a patch.
