Where is his logo?

In this picture John Paul Jones Doesn't have a decal on his headstock. Where did it go?

I think the angle made it disappear you can still see the outline kinda, or it was edited to prevent giving free publicity or something, anywho you have too much time on your hands

I have a poster in my room of Led Zeppelin, and it doesn't show a decal on his bass either. Unless he took the finish off as well as the decal.

Some of the old Fenders had a decal above the clear coat that could wear off easy. I had it happen to me on an old 64 Mustang Guitar. Perhaps it is just worn off.

Yep! I have a Fender Mustang guitar, part of the "u" was scratched off, now it says Mjstang. That's what my friends call it....the MJ Stang! lol.

could be any number of things, but one thing is for sure - the Fender logo didn't mean nearly as much back then as it does now... If it was his bass, and he played it, he didn't need a sticker to know who made it...

I've read in a few very Zeppelin places (books, internet) that his Jazz is actually a 1961.

+1, I can see a logo there or at least the outline of one, it seems like it's just the angle the pic was taken at

It's there. It's just that the black and white photo makes the spaghetti logo hard to see. Plus the bad angle.

if it's his jazz bass, jazz basses never had a spaghetti logo.

There are tons of photos out there of JPJ's Jazz Bass. I've never seen a single one where it had the decal. I think it rubbed off way before Zeppelin got together. He plays that bass throughout the Song Remains movie and it's bare.
