Why would you loosen the string tension when putting it in storage? That's nothing short of asking for trouble!

I've always had high action like that; all my basses are set up similarly (fretted & fretless P and the Solid 4 with the RS77LE set .50 - .110, other two fretless basses set up with the bottom four of the RS88 5-string set - the E is a .135). That particular P stays in tune like there's no tomorrow. Only time it's ever been out is if my saddles are off (which has happened twice in the 20 years I've owned it).

with pacific rim semi hollow 60's/70/s basses of that sort, it isn't the Neck that gave way, it's the body that starts to bend Up. I had a 'Lyle' that was 90% mots, and I yearned to play something so magnificently tacky, but no go.After repeatedly sinking good money after bad on repairing said issues, learned that circulating them back to ebay, making it clear that the problem is Not repairable worked out best. Even though you Clearly state you are reasonably knowledgeable and you are Quite sure it is now a decorative unit, rather than a playable instrument, somebody will be sure they can set it straight, so to speak. And you'll see it back on ebay in a few months, sometimes w/ a far more optimistic description.
