Double Bass where to buy a schertler?

Interesting. I wonder and I say I'm just wondering, whether the "installation" was an issue. You put it in an appropriate spot and made a little circle with the putty, etc. and had the centre of the transducer lightly touching the top of the bass?

Not only did I do that, but I had Rufus help me do it after the initial results were wonky (he's a bug fan of the Dyn-B and has been using his for a while now). On both of my basses, the pitches A, Bb, and B were distorting, although A was clearly the worst. Since the first Dyn was used, I figured it was defective, sent it back, and ordered another from Lemur. It did the same thing, so I swapped it out for the AMT and never looked back.

Edit: BTW, if anyone finds my posting of this information in a public forum in poor tatse, I will gladly remove it. I think Schertler makes great products (I had the PUB at the time and thought it was a remarkable piece of engineering), but this was one that simply didn't work for me for whatever reason.

I was not using the Schertler preamp the second time. The first time, I tried it through Rufus' preamp, and the same thing happened. But we used his Dyn-B on his bass through the same setup I was trying, and it sounded fine. Looking back, I wish we had simply pulled Rufus' Dyn off of his bass and stuck it on mine to see what happened, but I didn't want to ask him to do that (although he's so nice, I'm sure he would have). Then again, I'm so thrilled with the AMT that it all worked out for the best!
