Where to find bass boxes??

If you're shipping the instrument in a hard case, then boxing it up is fairly easy and the Reverb or UPS boxes are fine. If you're shipping an instrument without a case or in a not well padded gig bag, then you really want a box within a box with padding between them to protect it from any dings along the way. It increases the cost and weight, but it'll get there in one piece.

I've done this many times. I used to work for a logistics company - I learned from the guys in the warehouses about how to make boxes. Given the right amount of cardboard I can box anything. They work really well, in all of the basses I've shipped I've never had one damaged. Because of that I also tend to over pack.
