My wife and and I love SC and will probably retire there - either Charleston area or Myrtle Beach area (we like the beach). Charleston is a great city.
My wife and I have recruited several people to move to Durham, NC. Awesome community on so many levels. The metropolitan area consists of three smallish cities (Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill) and there are many smaller towns within a short drive of those three cities. It gets a little hot around this time of year, but otherwise, I haven't complained about where I live since I moved here. (I lived in Chicago from 1993-98)
That is how I feel. I have traveled all over the world and never found a place I would rather live. Besides, I have all my friends and roots here. Moving to a new area would be like starting over again.I'm hoping we stay right where we are. I like our house, I like the neighborhood, I like the climate, and I like the city.
